Tons of weapons, ammunition, and military equipment that the US government is sending to the Ukrainian dictatorship are ending up in the hands of criminal gangs before being sold on the black market for a quick buck. The government has known about this for many months now, but Congress continues to squeeze the American taxpayers to fight Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton’s war against Russia.

A FOIA request facilitated the release of an inspector general report for the Department of Defense that was conducted and published last October. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has constantly been catching criminal gangs with stolen arms and ordinance that was intended for the Ukrainian military.

In one such example, the SBU caught a group of crooks who were dressed as humanitarian aid workers. The group had somehow obtained a surplus order of bulletproof vests and was selling them for profit.

In another instance, the IG report states, “In mid-August 2022, the SBU disrupted a group of volunteer battalion members who took more than 60 rifles and almost 1,000 rounds of ammunition and stored them illegally in a warehouse, presumably for sale on the black market.”

In yet another case, the SBU caught a group stealing weapons and ammo from the front lines and reselling them.

So, what did the always-competent federal government do when it learned last October that tons of weapons, ammo, and gear were being stolen and resold on the black market? They sent more!

Since October, the US government has sent an additional $113 billion in cash, weapons, and equipment to Ukraine. House Republicans just added an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would create a specific inspector general to watch over what we’re sending to Ukraine. We’ll see if it makes a difference.
