You might think of yourself as a right-winger these days, but you probably can’t hold a candle to South Dakota state Rep. Joe Donnell (R-District 1). He announced this week that Mount Rushmore is actually a Freemason portal that was built to allow demons to spread communism in America. We thought about dismissing his claims initially, but then we remembered that Joe Biden is in the White House.

Donnell made the big announcement on the Now is the Time podcast. A clip of his demon portal comments appeared on Twitter on Monday. As of Wednesday morning, the viral clip had been viewed 574,000 times. So, at least the word is getting out about this problem!

“Mount Rushmore has a direct ley line to Washington, DC,” announced Donnell. “In order to be empowered to do more damage he [presumably Satan] needs the agreement of human beings, and oftentimes, that comes in the form of an altar that acts as a portal for other demonic things. What we’re really dealing with in that portal is communism.”

Okay, we’re kind of making fun of Donnell, but maybe we shouldn’t. After all, Mt. Rushmore was built by a bunch of Freemasons. “Ley lines,” the idea that there are hidden supernatural lines running between various monuments and popular spots around the globe, are taken seriously by a lot of people—even though it’s a theory that can never be scientifically proven.

Plus, we have an awful lot of communists in America these days. Hollywood, every college and university, the Biden White House, the FBI, most of the rest of the federal government, and the senior leadership in the US military are basically all communists. Mt. Rushmore was completed in 1941, right around the time when communism actually started to gain a foothold in America.

What do you think? Is Donnell correct about Mt. Rushmore being a demonic portal to spread communism in America?
