MSNBC Columnist Dean Obeidallah was joined by Mediaite Reporter Tommy Christopher on a September 8th edition of his XM Radio show, and he brought out his hard left-wing commentary to talk about Trump. Obeidallah has been increasingly critical of Trump, and conservatives as a whole. Proclaiming Trump needed prison for life, and for parole to be nothing but a dream, he needed to perish there, too.
“Because either we’re going to protect the Democratic Republic or we’re going to allow people – – in this case, Trump – to chip away at our democracy and chip away at what we believe in these institutions. That’s why I’m so passionate about, like with every fiber of my being, that Donald Trump has to live out his natural days, his last days of natural life, in a prison cell.”
He even concocted a way to link him to the Proud Boys and proclaim him their true leader and in essence puppetmaster. “The prosecution laid out the case: they began plotting right after the election when Trump said the election was stolen. They brought their people there. They had 200 people there at ten in the morning, way before Trump’s speech down by the Capitol, because they had plotted how they were going to attack the Capitol. And they did that to stop the certification, and that’s why they were convicted of seditious conspiracy, just one step below treason.”
Finally, when asked about the idea of Trump being offed in prison, Obeidallah claimed there was little chance of that because he would be insulated from threats. Previously in the week he had also equated Trump to Osama bin Laden and called the January 6th insurrection Trump’s 9/11. This is just another theme of his message in July.
For such a “tolerant” party, their spokespeople certainly try to throw out punishments like they are totalitarians. Pretty pathetic and communistic too.
