Trump supporter and podcaster Steve Bannon reported to a federal prison in Connecticut on July 1 to begin a four-month prison sentence. His crime? Bannon ignored a congressional subpoena from a committee that the House of Representatives says wasn’t even legitimate. Meanwhile, all of Joe Biden’s cabinet secretaries are walking around free despite ignoring subpoenas from the very real Committee on House Administration. This is just the latest example of the broken, two-tiered system of justice that Americans are living under right now.
President Donald Trump’s former advisor Peter Navarro is already serving a four-month prison sentence for ignoring a subpoena from the House Select Committee on January 6th, which is also contemptuously referred to as the “Liz Cheney Committee.” Democrats were in control of the House in 2021 when that committee was formed.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) ignored the House rules for the committee by refusing to seat the minority Republicans’ five choices for members. Pelosi instead appointed Trump-hating RINOs Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger as the only two “Republicans” on the committee.
House Republicans filed an emergency motion with the Supreme Court at the end of June, stating that the committee was never lawfully constituted under the House rules. Therefore, the subpoenas that the committee issued to Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro were never legitimate. The Supreme Court refused to intervene, so now Bannon and Navarro are locked up in federal prison.
Meanwhile, the House Committee on Administration sent subpoenas to all 15 of Joe Biden’s Cabinet secretaries earlier this year. The committee was seeking information on Biden’s suspicious executive order that directed all Executive branch agencies to engage in voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives. This is a task that is not related to the duties of any Executive branch agency. To most people, this move by Joe Biden is an attempt to steal the 2024 election away from Donald Trump and his voters, just as the Democrats did in 2020.
The Cabinet secretaries had until June 26 to turn over all documents related to the blatant election fraud attempt. Not even one complied. Every one of them ignored a lawfully issued congressional subpoena and not a single document was turned over to the committee.
This is the exact same crime that Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon were sent to prison for committing. You don’t get to just ignore a congressional subpoena. Unless you’re a Democrat, in which case, the rule of law is extremely flexible these days.
This is not the first congressional subpoena that Attorney General Merrick Garland has illegally ignored. Earlier this year, he ignored a House Judiciary Committee subpoena to release the audio from Joe Biden’s interrogation with special prosecutor Robert Hur, who was investigating the tens of thousands of pages of classified documents that Biden stole from the government. Garland is refusing to turn those tapes over for obvious reasons. Joe Biden mostly speaks incomprehensible gibberish these days, after dementia melted his brain. Garland knows that those audiotapes will be more cannon fodder for Republicans, so he’s ignoring their lawful subpoena.
Biden’s Cabinet members are so arrogant that they don’t believe there’s going to be any repercussions for their crimes. Nothing could be further from the truth. When President Donald Trump returns to the White House, his Attorney General will be in charge of the Justice Department. Guess which 15 members of the Biden regime will be the lowest-hanging fruit who are ripe for quick prison sentences?
